Ryan Hirsch, Great Bay Community College
Ryan has worked alongside an array of people from different political and economic groups including Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Green Party, Libertarians, Union Organizers, Anarchist, Socialists, Capitalists, Peace Activists, Tea Partiers, Gun Rights Advocates, Women’s’ Rights Advocates, Gay Rights Advocates and many others. Ryan is currently working with two non-partisan efforts to take money out of politics. The first, is “Take Back The American Dream.” which is spearheaded by Hedrick Smith, a Pulitzer Prize Winning Author, PBS Frontline Documentary Producer, and New York Times Columnist who’s book, “Who Stole The American Dream?” has laid out a plan to fix our economic troubles through a number of steps which will be the basis for the movement. Currently, the movement has Town Warrant Articles in play to show support for a Constitutional Amendment that states that only human beings, not corporations have civil rights, and that money is not free speech and therefore can be regulated in political campaigns. The second is the NH Rebellion. This effort is to bring attention to the fact that over 96% of Americans think money has too much power in our political system, but 91% of Americans think there is nothing we can do about it. This effort is to show that these people are not alone and that there is something we can do about it.
