Naomi Koubenec, Charleston Southern University, South Carolina

Naomi Koubenec, a junior at Charleston Southern University, is a student who saw a need in her community and became involved.  Naomi serves as a mentor and advisor to students from a poor performing inner-city high school.  She has expanded this effort by coordinating a group of student mentors who teach academic and social skills needed for success.  In addition to helping high school students, she volunteers her time with the Children’s Miracle Network and serves as a youth mentor and spokesperson for the multiple Sclerosis Society.
