SENCER – Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities – is a signature program of the National Center for Science and Civic Engagement. It supports an ever-growing community for faculty, students, academic leaders and others working to improve undergraduate science, technology, engineering and mathematics education by connecting learning to critcal civic questions.

“Butler’s involvement with the SENCER program has helped to create new courses that excite our students by connecting science with civic issues”, said Joe Kirsch, SENCER fellow and Professor of Chemistry at Butler.

The 11th annual SENCER Summer Institute will feature reports of mature projects, discussions of new and innovative approaches, how-to discussions, plenary sessions for both new and returning participants, recognition for leaders in the SENCER community and sessions that highlight new areas of work and initiatives.
