Winter Greetings & Happy New Year from Campus Compact!

Despite a challenging year, we’ve come together as a coalition to accomplish so much. Throughout the rapid shifts caused by COVID-19, we’ve continued to move resolutely forward in pursuit of a more just and equal future. Thank you for your perseverance and dedication.

As we look ahead to 2021, we remain motivated and inspired by hope for a better tomorrow. Thank you for your work and your continued investment in Campus Compact.

2020 in Review

We announced the first ever Community Engagement Professional and Institutional winners of the Impact AwardsLearn about the winners >

Member presidents and chancellors nominated 291 student leaders for the Newman Civic Fellowship—the largest cohort in Compact history. (We’re now accepting nominations for the 2021 cohort!) Learn more >

Our AmeriCorps programs saw tremendous enthusiasm for national service, bringing hundreds of people on board across the country to build the capacity of colleges and universities to partner with communities. Learn more >

The Compact20 Virtual Gathering brought our community together when COVID-19 forced the cancelation of our in-person conference. More than 5,000 faculty, staff, students, and senior leaders joined for three days of free virtual sessions, networking, and conversation. View recorded sessions >

Through our 2020 Census knowledge hub, events, and other resources, we supported campuses and communities in ensuring a fair count in 2020.

Our bonus summer webinar series helped members respond quickly to COVID-19. We focused on offering immediate assistance in priority areas like risk management and online community engagement.

We published Community Colleges for Democracy: Aligning Civic and Community Engagement with Institutional Priorities, offering it for free download to all members across the country. Download now >

We offered the Fusion Course to help faculty safely deliver online community engagement and service-learning opportunities to students. Learn more >

We built the Safe Elections Project in response to the need for young, low-COVID-risk poll workers to support the election. Our student recruiters enrolled 4,700+ of their peers as poll workers. Learn more >

We partnered with Up to Us to offer deliberative dialogue training to students, staff, and faculty, giving them the tools they need to effectively combat polarization and division on campuses and in communities. Learn more >

We supported your electoral engagement efforts on campus through partnerships with student voting organizations, state voting challenges, our Virtual Election Series, and more. 

The Engaged Scholars Initiative continued to support leaders in advancing co-created knowledge, critically engaged pedagogies, institutional change, and collaborative action to address societal issues.

The third annual National Webinar Series kicked off to bring tools and resources directly to you—11 sessions will be offered over the academic year. Register now >

Six new micro-credentials were launched as part of our Community Engagement Professional Credentialing Program. The first 62 community engagement professionals earned micro-credentials and another 150+ are in progress. All are on their way to becoming certified as Community Engagement Professionals.  Learn more >
