Ryan Bergman, Montgomery County Community College

bergman_photoRyan Bergman is entering his third year at Montgomery County Community College, and he is a student leader focused on addressing issues of poverty and homelessness on local and national levels. During the last year, Ryan has participated in the Alternative Spring Break program sponsored by the College where he has assisted in building houses for low-income families in West Virginia. Ryan continued his advocacy work for those living in poverty by forming the Habitat Club on-campus, as well as on-going service opportunities for students with the Habitat ReStore in Montgomery County including a volunteer project during the MLK Day of Service. Ryan is an exceptional student leader, who has brought a new sense of awareness and energy to the issues of poverty and homelessness for students on-campus. His commitment and dedication to providing long-term solutions and awareness to the efforts needed in-county and nationally for quality, affordable housing options are visible in his volunteer efforts and leadership roles at the College.
