Casey Cooper, Tennessee Wesleyan College

Casey Cooper, a junior special education major at Tennessee Wesleyan College, has tracked more than 250 hours of service in the past three years. Serving as a First-Year Experience Peer Leader has allowed him to assist first-year students’ transition to college, as well as help him prepare for a career in education. Casey has volunteered as a tutor in the Academic Success Center and served at Athens City Middle School, Morning Pointe assisted living home, and the local American Legion Post. He also helped lead the implementation of an Alternative Break initiative by joining classmates on a fall break trip to Heifer International Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas, and then serving as a student leader for a spring break trip through TWC’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes to Jonesville, Virginia, with the Appalachian Service Project. Casey not only serves those in Athens, Tennessee, where TWC is located, but also regularly volunteers during holiday breaks at Two Rivers Middle School in his hometown of Nashville.
