Personal Statement

My life philosophy is "Good, better, best, never let it rest, until your good gets better and your better gets its best."
My dedication, compassion, and respect for others drives my desire to serve. I am passionate about fostering changes in our laws and fighting world hunger. During high school, I volunteered in different organizations to help end world hunger. Also, I started my very own volunteering project entitled "Convicts Need Education Too," in which I sent over 200 copies of educational handbooks to six different prison facilities to help inmates increase their education. This experience served as a stepping stone for me.
Recently, I have found a love of service through helping children as the Coordinator of an after school craft program at Franklin Elementary. At McKendree University, I have had the privilege of reaching out to our next generation to influence them in any way I can. As a Student Ambassador for the Social Justice and Equity Committee and Vice-President of the Black Student Organization, I coordinate and plan events that are inclusive and educational for all groups of individuals.
