Her involvement in Dual to Degree (D2D), an exclusive program designed to transition Dual Enrollment high school students into an associate degree program at Prince George’s Community College (PGCC), retain those students among a cohort of campus leaders, and facilitate transfer to a baccalaureate institution. By extension, Praise is also an active member of Owl Success Squad Ambassadors (OSSA), which is also a student organization within our campus. Currently, Ms. Osamor serves as the Chief of Staff of the Student Governance Association here at the College, where she has contributed several hours per week leading a small group of individuals in an effort to have their voices heard throughout the campus by advocating for student issues.

Personal Statement

2016 was my first year back in the US school system after spending four years in Nigeria. This was the worst year of my life. As a result, I was very shy and didn't talk to anyone. I barely even knew the sound of my own voice. I was able to overcome my situation and learn from it, so now, every morning, I remind myself of the power that I have. I've decided that every day, I will positively impact people around me, whether that be through volunteering, spreading awareness, or even uplifting the hearts of other individuals.

I decided that I was going to be more active in my community. So as a high school senior, I joined the student leaders at my church, and in college, I joined the student government. I am currently working to promote awareness amongst my peers in my position as Chief of Staff of PGCC and also as the head of the welcoming department at my church. I task myself with spreading awareness to people about resources that are available to help them succeed.
