Grant Dick

Northern Oklahoma College

Grant Dick is a sophomore Biological Sciences major at Northern Oklahoma College in Enid. Serving as president of the President's Leadership Council, he works to see every campus event and project come to completion all while promoting scholarship and service in the community. Last spring, Grant gave a presentation to a packed auditorium at a local Title 1 school about the importance of education, the paths available to students, and the success that education yields. Grant works to help local high school students and nontraditional students attend and excel in higher education as much as possible. Grant started a club on his campus that gives students an opportunity to experience the outdoors and learn the values of conservation while maintaining high ethical standards. In his free time, Grant is an avid outdoorsman and advocate for local clubs and youth groups that promote the conservation of wildlife.

Personal Statement

As the first child in my family to enter college I had no idea what to expect or who to turn to for advice. After finding my way with help from older friends I realized how overwhelming the higher education system could be to some. Since then I've helped underclassmen, non-traditional students, coworkers, and anyone looking to further their education. I'm a firm believer in the "help the next one in line" mentality. I love the outdoors and find joy in showing others the skills, lessons, and relief that come from being outside and connecting with nature.
