Personal Statement

Pablo Picasso once said, “only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.” That is exactly what I intend to do with my life. I want to make this world a place I would be happy raising children in, a place I would feel proud to call my home. I try to do that in ways that might not seem very big at first glance; volunteering at my on-campus food resource center, leading and organizing service projects with my fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, and doing my best to be there for those that need me are a few examples. I enjoy helping others. I always have. After graduation, I hope to spend time volunteering with the Peace Corps or a similar program. As cheesy as it sounds, I want to make a difference with my life. I want to make a change. Through my time on this earth, I have learned that if you want something to get done, it's best to try to be a shepherd among sheep, and I always do my best to be that shepherd.
