Personal Statement

For as long as I can remember I have always been the one to take care of others. I was always the mother of any group I was involved with. I decided in high school I wanted to unite people and never have a person feel like they have to be someone they are not. I believe difference makes us unique and I thrive on bringing those things to the table to form bonds. Coming to Garrett College I was ready to put those life lessons to work. Upon my arrival to college, I saw so many people needing a leader but there were none. I saw so many ways I could help others with love and compassion. During my years here I have assisted young ladies in the dorms see their potentials and I've taken on the role of a big sister or mother. In turn, I founded the Women's Unity Group which focuses on love, encouragements, acceptance and the commitment to building a better and healthy community. I love seeing the smile on someone's face when they see a person actually care for them.
