Personal Statement

Someone once said that "No man is as tall as the one that stoops to help a child." This has been a quote that inspires my life's work. As a Child and Family Development major within the School of Education at Benedict College, I have assisted head start and elementary school teachers in working to build the skill level of their students. I have been blessed with experiences that have allowed me to hone my academic while developing my professional skills.

I have volunteered with the Career Pathways Initiative and Service-Learning Program and Edgewood Foundation to coordinate and implement Unity in the Community Day, a back to school drive that provided K-8 children with the necessary supplies to succeed in school. Through my various service commitments, I have been able to gain skills inside and outside of the classroom. I pledge to continue to be an example to my peers at Benedict College.
